Excellence in Aviation Medicals

We at Iskander Aeromedical are the only aeromedical practice based in the vicinity of Edinburgh Airport.
We are very proud to be the main aviation medical provider to all the major airlines at Edinburgh Airport and beyond, and are committed to providing the highest quality service and experience for our clients. This commitment translated to a client satisfaction survey that was carried out recently. The results of this survey revealed that we scored the top rating for prompt service and efficient & quick communication with clients. We were also noted for having readily available and convenient access to our service, which takes into account the busy schedules of pilots & cabin crew.

Dr. Samir Iskander, M.B, BCh

I have been a CAA certified Aviation Medical Examiner practising in Edinburgh since 2016.

Prior to my Aviation Medicine career, I was a principal in General Practice for over 25 years in the East of Scotland and for a short while was appointed as GP fund holding adviser to the Fife Health Board.

I have always had an interest in Aviation Medicine and the opportunity arose for me to start my own practice after the retirement of my predecessor, Dr. Fawzi.

I am authorised to perform UK and EASA Class 1, 2, 3, LAPL and Cabin Crew medicals. Approval has been granted to me by the Maltese Civil Aviation Directorate to perform EASA medicals, which is recognised in the 27 European states.

During my five years of aviation medical practice, my client base has grown very quickly based on personal recommendations. I have been audited twice by a Senior Medical Assessor of the CAA, in 2017 & 2020. I have also become a preferred provider of aviation medical examination by many of the major airlines. Additionally, I was also approached to provide block bookings to all the new cabin crew recruits of a major airline that started operation from Edinburgh Airport.

Mr. Lawrence Robert Skinner, Practice Manager, AMSPAR IHM

I spent 22 years in the Royal Air Force Medical Branch, from 1980 to 2002, trained in Aeromedical Evacuation of injured servicemen. I was part of a big team responsible for safe repatriation of injured personnel during the Falklands and Gulf War.

Following my RAF retirement, I took up the post of Practice Manager for Dr. Samir Iskander & Partners in Fife. In 2016 I decided to join Dr. Iskander in his new private aviation medical practice as his personal assistant and business manager. We strive to provide quick and efficient service to our pilot & cabin crew community.
